THIS SPACE

And he told her softly
That the heart cannot think,
Or conceptualize a feeling.
That it is
But a muscle;
An organ
Pumping blood.

And he told her softly
That every emotion is of the mind
Synapses firing
Neural pathways
Automated responses
Housed in the frontal cortex.

And she laid softly
On his chest
Listening silently
To the beat of his heart
Each pump melodic
Symphonic
Strong.

Falling into the space
Between each beat
Infinitesmal
Eternal.

There,
Suspended in stillness
She sighed
Wanting to show him
This space
This point:
Eternal moment
Fleeting void
Cathartic abyss.

One beat's finality
Ephemeral ending
Birthing the next....
Tantamount
To the oceanic tides
Emeralds softly kissing golden shores
Beneath a crimson drenched eve
The bejeweled, jagged waves
Yes,
They too rest
But for a moment
Infinitesmal
Eternal.

Wanting to show him
This space,
She sighed softly.
Falling,
Yet suspended
In this space.

Alpha anneals
With Omega.
And there is no longer
Any distinction.
No black,
No white,
No right,
No wrong........
No distinction.

She placed her hand
Softly
On his chest.
Each beat
Her everything
Each cessation
Her birth.
Infinitesmal
Eternal.

Wanting to show him
This space
She sighed softly.

Yes,
In this space
Everything rests.
